OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 21, 2007) - Linkin Park, one of the world's leading rock bands has committed to plant trees with Tree Canada as a result of its sole Canadian Projekt Revolution concert in Toronto, ON on August 21, 2007 at the Molson Amphitheatre.

The band has been active in the green consciousness movement in the entertainment industry through Music for Relief, a non-profit organization founded by Linkin Park in 2005 to aid victims of the tsunami in South Asia and has since broadened its scope to help reduce global warming. Music for Relief works to encourage musicians and fans to get involved & donate to help support these two causes.

The group has partnered with Habitat for Humanity to help rebuild homes in the Gulf Coast destroyed by hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and is committed to raising awareness of climate change and planting trees in Canada through Tree Canada and in the U.S. with American Forests. Linkin Park has committed to donating $1 from every Projekt Revolution 2007 concert ticket sold to help in tree planting efforts. In Canada, the trees will be planted with native species such as white birch and pine in 2008 at the Sudbury Land Reclamation Project where a large area formerly denuded by nickel smelting is being re-greened.

"We are so pleased to work with Music for Relief to help spread the message that trees are part of the climate change solution", said Michael Rosen President of Tree Canada. "Linkin Park has to be congratulated for putting the green into green and making this happen", he said. Mr. Rosen will be adding his support by helping out at the charity and donation tent today.

At each Projekt Revolution date there is a Music For Relief booth in the Revolution village area where fans can learn more about the organization, its partners and their activities. Concert attendees can even calculate their carbon footprint. Tree Canada volunteers will be manning the booth on August 21 and making contact with a whole new generation of environmentalists!
